Tidbits

My thoughts and life are feeling quite fragmented lately so I'm going bullet form for this one, a quick relapse of the last 3 or 4 weeks:
  •  We had preschool at our house and survived, thanks to the awesome moms who stayed to help. Note to self- 15  four and five years + project with a lot of cutting=bad idea. Chalk it up to a learning experience.
  • We've been rounding up the winter gear and buying what we still need. Ugh.
  • The forecast for this area is first snowfall around Nov. 15. A reprieve!
  • Lots of eating out. Expensive.Easy. Easy wins right now.
  • The 2yr. old thought he wanted to jump down the steps the other morning. Only problem is, it's about a 15 ft. drop. I think he wanted to give me a heart attack, and let me tell you he *almost* succeeded. (I nabbed him as he was climbing to the top of the half wall on our second floor.) Nothing like adrenaline to wake me up!
  • The 1yr. old  just about ended up in the hospital 2 wks ago, thankfully we got to go home after a 7hr. stint at the in-patient clinic.
  • This long wait period for insurance from Neal's new job is causing some stress. (See above. And below.)
  • Currently all 4 children have strep. And 2 have double ear infections. And one also has a sinus infection. And another has a left ear infection.
  • I've been painting- yay! Not off of my 'finish it up' list. I started something new, of course:) My front door now has a nice 4 coats of Tee Time Green on it. I'm getting used to it but still think we should take the screen door off, since I know it will look better. Honestly. It would.
  • Oh, can't forget to mention my brother got to come home which was fun. We haven't seen him for quite awhile and probably won't see him again until next August.
  • I'm more than halfway done knitting my first baby blanket. It's got some mistakes, and I'm not sure I like the weight of the yarn I used but overall I'm pleased with it.
  • Our house and garage now have new roofs. We are very happy with how they look and even happier we decided to hire it out instead of doing it ourselves, since it likely wouldn't have happened yet.
  • B started walking for real. He's our latest walker at 13 months, the rest were walking proficiently by 10 months.
Hmmm, doesn't look like much put this way. Oh well, that's all mixed in with the daily stuff. By the way, I started counting, and I do on average 16 loads of laundry per week. To keep up. Is it just me or is this kind of crazy?!
